Following my previous email regarding the above I am now able to provide Members with  the precise details on what we need to do in order to reopen the bar whilst complying with Government rules around Social Distancing within this area as well as protecting our Staff and Members.

These steps will initially be in place for the next two weeks, so that we can monitor how this operates, and to assess if we can do more, following any feedback we get from yourselves.

We appreciate that the steps we have taken may seem onerous. However, we believe this is the only way we can effectively reopen without incurring more significant costs than we can afford at the present time. 

With this in mind, the following rules will apply:

·      The bar will open from 12pm to 6pm Monday to Saturday, and 12pm to 4pm on Sundays.

·      Access to the Club House will remain via the locker entrances only

·      Please wash and sanitise your hands before entering the bar area

·      There are arrows indicating the one-way system that is in operation and members must not deviate from these.

·      Payment for drinks will be contactless only so please ensure your bar cards have the appropriate credit available

·      There will be no traditional, hand pulled beers available

·      Drinks can only be ordered from the side bar area in the foyer and only one person at a time can approach the bar.

·      Food will be available although it will be on a limited menu basis

·      The area at the rear of the main bar area where the snooker table used to be is closed and cannot be used at the present time.

·      Members drinking and or eating in the Club House will all have to be seated which will restrict the numbers we can allow in at any one time. In our case this will 56 Members. There is no option to stand.

·      You will have a choice of sitting in the Function Room where there are 7 tables of 4 or in the main bar area where there are a further 7 tables of 4 available. The positions of the chairs and tables are marked, and chairs and tables must not be moved from these positions. Neither can additional seats, or tables be added.

·      The tables and chairs will all have been sanitised at the start of the day and will be re sanitised by staff when vacated.

·      For people using the Function Room access to the rear patio area is also available which offers additional seating for 8 people as well as room for Members to stand should they wish to do so.  

On leaving this area, Members should do so via the rear door and walking along the path adjacent to the putting green.

For those using the main bar area then they should only leave by the patio doors. They will also have access to the outside area via these doors where more seating will also be available along with space for Members to stand.

·      PLEASE ENSURE YOU ADHERE AT ALL TIMES, TO SOCIAL DISTANCING WHILST OUTSIDE OF THE CLUB HOUSE.

·      We would ask Members to return all their empty glasses and bottles etc to the designated areas for collection by Staff

·      Members will have to leave the Club House and re-enter via the Locker rooms if they wish to use the toilet facilities or to re-order more drinks.

·      The Halfway House will remain open as at present so food and drink will also be available there.

As I mentioned, we realise that these are quite onerous restrictions. However they are very much in line with other Clubs and bars and we would ask Members to ensure that they follow them explicitly.

Under Government guidelines our failure to follow these protocols may result in us having to ban offending Members from these areas or with us having to close the Club House once again which is obviously not something we would wish to do.
